The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman's relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.

Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML)

Mission Statement:  The Mission of the LWML of St. John Lutheran Church is to assist every woman of the congregation in affirming her relationship to the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

The Objects of this Society Shall Be:

  • To promote growth in Christian Knowledge
  • To foster and support the program and objects of the Lutheran Women�s Missionary League
  • To further a love for and to help provide for active participation in Christian service
  • To foster Christian Fellowship


All communicate ladies of the congregation are eligible for active membership.  Those who are not communicant members of the congregation, but who wish to attend meetings regularly, may join as associate members, but may not vote nor hold office.

  • Meetings are normally held at the church
  • There are no set dues, but voluntary contributions are accepted at each meeting
  • Mission or Mite Box offerings shall be collected the first Sunday of each month, and the total Mite offerings are sent to the District LML Financial Officer

Ecumenical Cupboard

LWML collects non-perishable food items and paper goods which are taken to the Cupboard Headquarters for distribution. In order to increase donations, we request members bring an item on the first Sunday of each month. You may leave your contributions in the red or blue tubs that are located in the Narthex and in the Fellowship Hall.
